Greetings from Forest Lake!

You are invited to attend the Flake Stakes Debate Tournament to be held at Forest Lake High School on Saturday, November 11, 2017.  We will offer Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, Congressional debate, and Impromptu speaking.  There will be five Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum rounds and three Impromptu rounds.  Rounds will be powered, and we will have finals.

Schedule:

 7:45 – Registration opens    

(To call in registration: 651-331-9570 (day of)

8:30 – First round

3:00 (approximately) – Finals (as decided by coaches)

Results – as soon as possible following finals - leave by 5:00

Food:  Students will be able to purchase food at the tournament.  Judges and coaches will have snacks available in the lounge.

Fees:  $15 per team Public Forum, $10 per Lincoln-Douglas debater, $5 per Congress debater, $2 per impromptu speaker

Judges:  Each school should bring one judge for every two Public Forum teams, one judge for every two Lincoln-Douglas debaters, one judge for every 6 congressional debaters, and one judge for every 4 impromptu speakers (or fraction thereof).  There will be a $100 nuisance fee assessed per missing judge. Let me know ASAP if you are having trouble with finding judges.
